Once your partner has ED (Erectile Dysfunction), as being the one involved with him, you are affected too. As much as this is a difficult time for your partner who has ED, this as well is a difficult time for you. This article is in light for those who share the same situation.

  • There’s power in knowledge. Know what ED is thoroughly to understand what your partner is going through. Understanding leads to compassion and compassion leads to empathy. Knowing what ED is will also help in comparing different methods of treatment that will be agreeable for you and your partner.
  • Be with him in doctor appointments. This is a gesture that will make him feel that you are willing to stand by him in dealing with his condition.
  • Make him feel that you’re together in this. Constant reminders telling him that ED is common and very curable will encourage him. Thus affirming to him that ED doesn’t make him less of a man. It doesn’t necessarily mean that he doesn’t desire you that much. Also make the effort of encouraging his proper diet, to use recreational drug, quit smoking and the likes that help treat/deal with ED.
  • Open his mind to other treatments for ED. If in initial tries of treatment does not succeed, encourage him to keep setting appointment with the doctor in exploring other options for treatments.

It is also very helpful to talk to your partner about your concerns and to make him feel that you definitely are concerned yet optimistic. Putting blame will make matters worse, but instead talk about what you both want and need. It is necessary. This also concerns achieving pleasure or sexual satisfactory with alternative technique without gravity or pressure on your partner.
